Hao Sheng's research at Westlake University focuses on adaptive bioelectronics for dynamic living systems. His work brings together mechanics, soft materials, microfabrication, electrophysiology, and computational analysis to develop interfaces that accommodate biological growth and change.
He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences–Bioengineering at Harvard University in 2023, where he worked with Jia Liu on bioelectronics for cellular electrophysiology during tissue development. His doctoral and postdoctoral work included Cyborg Embryos, growth-adaptive neural interfaces, and collaborations in AI-assisted neural analysis and spatial molecular mapping.
His research training also includes work with Zhigang Suo on hydrogel neural interfaces and stretchable materials, as well as postdoctoral research with Zhenan Bao at Stanford University on ultrasoft, high-density bioelectronics.
